Position:
8th Grade ESL Teacher
Location: Chester, PA
Position Type: Full-Time
Summary:
Seeking a dedicated ESL teacher to support English Language Learners in Grade 8. The role involves facilitating language development, guiding students’ academic progress, and collaborating with school staff to ensure effective integration and support for ESL students.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as a liaison between ESL students, staff, and families
Recommend ESL program entry/exit based on established criteria
Administer mandated language proficiency assessments
Track student progress and maintain accurate records
Plan and deliver ESL lessons based on research-based best practices
Modify and provide learning materials suited for English learners
Collaborate with general education teachers to support classroom integration
Maintain communication with families regarding student progress
Participate in ongoing curriculum review and professional development
Support school-wide initiatives and perform other assigned duties
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Education
Valid ESL Program Specialist Certificate (PK-12)
Familiarity with Pennsylvania regulations related to ESL/ELL education
Clearances: Criminal Record, Child Abuse, FBI Background
Preferred Knowledge & Skills:
Experience in ESL/ELL education and instructional strategies
Familiarity with RTII, PBIS, and InTASC standards
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Ability to differentiate instruction and use technology to enhance learning
